It started a while ago, and just keep going. I am buying a lot of books, and not just manga. But mostly.
Yesterday I stopped by Shakespeare & Company Books while wandering around Telegraph. I had never been there, and while the novelty of that type of store is normally lost on someone with my attention span and memory, I was able to find some manga and a calligraphy book that were at a nice discount. Then, when I met up with Susan, we stopped by the Friends of the Berkeley Public Library Bookstore, where I picked up a couple of actual books.
When we got home I was relaying my adventures to Justin, who asked if I had stopped by Comic Relief, as they are selling manga for a dollar each. And I had just proclaimed that I couldn’t buy anymore until I moved, so I would have somewhere to put them! Anyhow, I went by there today and pick up a couple (ten, actually) manga, including the next Yotsuba! I needed (and I mean that, she is adorable!).
Hopefully I am actually done. I seriously don’t know where to put these stacks of books as it stands. One benefit of moving is that the big cube thing in the living room will have less people using it. However, wherever I put the manga it will either be a thin bookcase or going in double placed, so that half of them are hidden behind the others. That isn’t the optimal setup, since I like to use manga for reference, but I am wary to buy shelving specifically for small format books. It seems almost like I am asking for an excuse to buy more…
If I read anything of interest I will make sure to blog about it. Otherwise I will be micro-blogging it, or at the very least, adding it to my LibraryThing (if it is worth keeping). ^_^
